1. Nature of Our Transactions
Sanmarkkam Life APS is a non-profit association (Associazione di Promozione Sociale) registered under Italian Law 383/2000. The Solidarity Emporium operates as part of our associative mission β not as a commercial activity in the sense of the Italian Consumer Code (D.Lgs. 206/2005).
Transactions through the Solidarity Emporium are voluntary contributions to a recognised non-profit association, not commercial purchases. As such, the standard 14-day right of withdrawal applicable to commercial distance contracts does not automatically apply to solidarity contributions made to a non-profit association in the exercise of its statutory mission.
However, in the spirit of full transparency and good faith, we set out below our complete policy on withdrawal, returns, and refunds.
2. Physical Products β Our Commitment
Although the standard right of withdrawal does not automatically apply to our solidarity transactions, Sanmarkkam Life APS commits to considering refund or return requests in the following circumstances:
We will process a refund or replacement if:
- The product you received is significantly different from what was described on the product page
- The product arrived damaged or in unusable condition β you must notify us with photographic evidence within 7 days of receipt
- The product was not delivered within 60 days of the confirmed dispatch date
- A food product presents a genuine safety or quality concern
To request a refund or return:
Write to jothinanda@sanmarkkamlife.org with:
- Your name and order details
- A description of the issue
- Photographic evidence where applicable
We will respond within 14 days.
3. Physical Products β Non-Refundable Circumstances
The following are not grounds for refund or return:
- Change of mind after dispatch
- Dissatisfaction with the cultural, devotional, or study nature of a product clearly described as such on the product page
- Requests made more than 60 days after confirmed delivery
- Products that have been opened, used, or altered
- Customs delays or import duty charges imposed by your country’s authorities
- Incorrect delivery address provided by the requester
4. Digital Products
Digital products (PDFs, educational materials, translations, and similar resources) are non-refundable once they have been downloaded or accessed, as the delivery of digital content is immediate and irreversible.
If you experience a technical problem preventing access to a digital product you have contributed for, contact us at jothinanda@sanmarkkamlife.org and we will resolve it promptly.
5. Food Products
For food products (Seeraga Samba Rice, Toor Dal, culinary spices, and similar items), we will consider refund or replacement requests where:
- The product arrived damaged or in unsatisfactory condition β notify us with photographic evidence within 7 days of receipt
- The product presents a genuine food safety concern
We take food safety seriously. If you have any concern about a food product received from us, contact us immediately at jothinanda@sanmarkkamlife.org.
6. Solidarity Access Requests at β¬0
Products requested at β¬0 solidarity access are offered as a gesture of associative solidarity. No contribution has been made and therefore no financial refund is applicable. If a product requested at β¬0 arrives damaged or is not delivered, we will endeavour to resolve the situation in good faith subject to our available resources.
7. Abuse Prevention
Sanmarkkam Life APS reserves the right to cancel and refund any request deemed financially unsustainable, malicious, unreasonable, suspicious, or otherwise abusive of the association’s spirit and resources. We reserve the right to decline future requests from individuals who have abused the solidarity model.
