Ramalinga Swamigal (Vallalar) names Vilvam directly in the Sirappu Vidhi (Special Rules for Advanced Practice), Rule 8 of the Nithya Karma Vidhi among the Jnana Pachilaigal (Herbs of Wisdom) to be taken at sunrise — the powder first purified in cow’s milk (pasumpaal), then mixed with sugar (nattu sakkarai) or taken with cow’s milk as an anupana, on an empty stomach. The practice sits within Vallalar’s broader vision of Suddha Deham (pure body) as the living foundation for the reception of Arutperumjyoti (Vast Grace Light).
